This should be a great learning experience for all of us as we visit the Planetarium and cadet food hall.
Here is some information about getting on base, what we plan to do and where we plan to eat.:
11:00 am- Arrive at North Gate (Exit 156) (not the south gate) to check in (Please allow extra time if this is your first visit). You need to arrive early and have an valid ID for anyone 18+ in your car. You may be asked to share additional information such as proof of insurance and vehicle. All vehicles are subject to inspection by security personnel, so we may ask you to pop your trunk. Weapons (concealed carry) and marijuana, while permitted in the community, are not authorized on the installation. More information is here
https://www.usafa.edu/visitors/getting-on-base/.
After you’ve gone through the gate, Follow signs to Planetarium/Arnold Hall. DO NOT FOLLOW GPS DIRECTIONS AS THIS SOMETIMES TAKES YOU TO RESTRICTED AREAS. Follow North Gate/Academy Drive around and turn left onto Cadet Drive. Take the next left into the large guest parking. Follow the white paved path to the planetarium. If you arrive early, feel free to check out the B-52 display immediately after entering the North Gate, you will notice a large aircraft on your left, you’re welcome to stop here for a quick look.
11:30 am- Planetarium show begins (please arrive early as you may not be able to come in if the show is in progress).
Feel free to stay longer for a self-guided tour, the visitors center, the outdoor airplane museum or another planetarium show if available. Please email info@coshome.org for information on how to sign up.
